I may buy a handful of these for gifts. I think 5-6 seconds read is all you need to start with. The expensive ones read in 3 seconds supposedly.Is 2 seconds worth an extra $70?

Some of these guys will try to convince you to calibrate your thermometers to 98.6 degrees by inserting into all bodily orifices. Do not listen to them. It hurts.Richmond and Mathews County, VA. Large BGE, Weber gas, little Weber charcoal. Vintage ManGrates. Little reddish portable kamado that shall remain nameless here. Very Extremely Stable Genius.
