Maybe if they could stack more then 30 bags like Wicked Good will do the cost per bag would get better.

Two pallets of 30 bags each does not cost any more to ship than 60 bags on a single pallet.  They are stackable, so we pay the same based off the dimensions vs. weight (approx. 1300# and 40x48x100".)

With as thick as our bags are, when we get above 35 bags, the pallet looks like the Leaning Tower of Pisa.  With 30 on each pallet we can stack them in the truck.......no leaning and they can be wheeled through a standard height double door with a pallet jack.

They must have a different kind of deal with their shipper. It is per pallet shipped, up to 60 bags with a minimum of 30 bags per pallet. Shipping cost is the same if you order 30 bags or 40 or 60 bags.

So 30 bags @ $13 with  $113 shipping  and a $20 handling fee because they are actually breaking down a 60 bag pallet comes in roughly $533 or $17.43 a bag

40 @ $13 comes to $520 plus $113 plus $20 comes to $653 or $16.33 a bag. So the more you ordered the cheaper it is per bag.

Pallet buys all come down to shipping cost.

Ace in Evans, GA has it. I think they are the only people in the Augusta, GA area that has it.

I will be getting some from them as soon as they get more in. I have only used the BGE lump, and I would like to to try something different.

    Louisville, GA - 2 Large BGE's
  • I just got 5 bags shipped by fed ex. I have not opened them to try it out but the shipping box was in pretty bad shape. Hopefully my lump is ok.

We use multiple 3PL's to find the cheapest rate out of dozens of shippers.  One uses a matrix based on hundredweight, another on size with a max weight, another uses specific contract rates bid for us.  Unfortunately with you being close to 1000 miles away, it's not going to be cheap no matter how it's bid.  Feel free to email, as rates may have changed over the last few months (especially if it was Vitran).
