I went back and looked at your last potato soup post and saw that I had already asked that. Sorry. I bake them in the skins, then scoop the pulp out and save to make tater skins.

For extra useless trivia points, do you know how that term was coined?Little Steven said:So you are talking brass monkey temps then.I imagine the welldiggers ass would be on the damp side, so possibly somewhere between the witch and the pimp.#1 LBGE December 2012 • #2 SBGE February 2013 • #3 Mini May 2013A happy BGE family in Houston, TX. -

A brass monkey was the square contraption aboard an old galleon that held the canon balls. The brass would shrink in cold weather and the balls would roll off. Therefore the expression "cold enough o freeze the balls off a brass monkey"caliking said:

Made some more today also. Added the kielbasa too. It was even better then the first batch. Whole family loves it. I added less cheese this time and took another hint from @henapple and used the bacon grease instead of butter, makes a difference. I also sauteed a cup or so of chopped sweet onion instead of using the green onion. I think I like that a little better. I'll just use the green onion as garnish because I like it crispy instead of cooked into the soup. This stuff is fantastic!
