Pork neck bones

Has anyone here cooked pork neck bones. I have a friend that does them and they are really great. I tried them a time or two and they were good but kind of lacked something.
Here is what I did,
I put a sugar free rub on them so they would not burn and smoked them for a couple of hours at 225 and then grilled them kind of hot like I do chicken till they were done.
Suggestions are welcome.

Charles in SC,[p]I've smoked them by simply placing them on the warming rack of a charcoal grill during a long cook. Then, packed them for the freezer to use for seasoning beans, greens, and such. [p]Haven't tried them with a rub or sauce, but they should turn out OK. I'm planning to try that next time they go on sale.[p]Longmill
