Grand Mariner Cognac Ham Glaze

Thanks for sharing your rubs with a newbie. I have recently fallen in love with a new ham glaze I created for the holidays. The family loved it.
Take a Pork Shoulder bone in and smoke on the grill studded with whole cloves. I begin applying the glaze about an hour before it is done. It chars a little, but is so good. Be sure to cross hatch the fat with a knife so the glaze can get into the meat a little.
Glaze:
1 jar of orange marmelade (with pieces of fruit)
1 teaspoon of ground cloves
1 tablespoon of butter
1/2 to 3/4 cup of Grand Marnier French Cognac
Put all contents in a small saucepan and reduce over low heat to thicken. Hold back a little and once ham is sliced, pour remaining glaze over the slices.

Sounds really good! Thanks for sharing.

Hey willrev,
The recipe sounds great, Grand Mariner is good stuff. I imagine you could probably inject with it also, like some people do with maple syrup.

That sounds like a fantastic glaze for a ham. I definitely need to try that. I've had Grand Marnier in a margarita and love it but never on a ham. Thanks for the great recipe.

DOW may not like wasting that GM, she needs her Ritas. But sounds great.

I took this to Thanksgiving at a relative and the turkey was overlooked. The ham was GONE!

That sounds great. I'll be adding Grand Marnier to the Mimosa's in the morning/
