Egg Injuries

This is pretty minor but I went to lift off the plate setter and burnt my finger through the welding gloves. Ouch. Anyone else have any Egg-related injuries they would like to share?

Wish I had a picture of when I put my thumb straight into the meat slicer last year. Still totally dead nerves on the tip of it. Pretty stitches though.

  • Stabbed my left hand (I'm a lefty but use my right to slice) with my chef's knife. Wound was about 3/4" deep. I was about to start egging. Spent the evening staunching the bleeding instead.

  • I don't need any hair removal services. I usually forget to burp the EGG about half the time. No hair on my fingers or hands.

  • When my wife bought me my first large I was rolling it down to the back patio. It slid off the path and on to the grass, it was going to tumble and I threw myself on the ground to cushion it. Coupla bruised ribs but no damage except for a little distortion on the bands.

  • Pre Egg. Reloading old vertical smoker. Convinced me I needed the Egg.
  • This summer I did a deep dish pizza in a cast iron skillet. I was halfway between the egg and the kitchen when it started burning through my glove. There was nothing to do but suck it up, take the pain and get to the kitchen ASAP. It left a nasty blister on my hand.

No pic proof, so it didn't happen, but I removed my stone for my mini to reverse sear a tri-tip and the stone slipped off the counter. It was hot, but I caught it to prevent my 3rd broken stone. Burned the crud outta my hand.

You should have used your fake hand, the one the gator bit off.

  • Cut my self on a bottom vent once, lost a lot of hair to flashbacks, and picked up some burns here and there (a fairly spectacular on on a wok cook).

Only thing that could have been serious the the most mega flash back I ever induced.  I was glad that I was wearing glasses, but the thing that saved me (I think) is that the PS was in.

XXL #82 out of the first 100, XLGE X 2, LBGE (gave this one to daughter 1.0) , MBGE (now in the hands of iloveagoodyoke daughter 2.0) and lots of toys

  • Felt like I blew out a manberry lifting the XL boxes out of the truck then again into the nest...does that count?
