Thoughts on the maverick 733?

I was looking at the maverick 733 and it looks like a nice unit. It seems to do everything but adjust the temp of the pit. Being that the egg holds temp so well are the controllers with blowers overkill? Does anyone have any experience with this unit? Good or bad?

I've had the older et7 for several years, and the et73 for a few years. the et7 measures 2 food temps, but doesn't measure pit temp. The et73 had issues with poor range and the switches were a pain to access under the battery cover. Added external antennas to the et73 and it has worked like a champ ever since. I found that the transmitter from the et7 used with the receiver from the et73 is the optimal configuration for me. I can monitor meat temp and pit temp (max and min) from anywhere on my property and from amywhere inside the house. I have slept comfortably during multiple overnight cooks. The et732 addressed the range issues the older et73 had. The et733 seems to be a hybrid of the et732 and et7 which sounds like a good thing. If my et73 stops working I will likely buy an et733.The temp controllers are more expensive, and the wifi controllers even more so. I like the option of having a wireless temp monitor, and don't feel the need for a controller at this time, but that may change in the future.#1 LBGE December 2012 • #2 SBGE February 2013 • #3 Mini May 2013A happy BGE family in Houston, TX.

There are a couple of folks here who are going to start a thread on their personal reviews of ET733. Stay tuned.Alan in LA (Lower Alabama that is)"If you must choose between two evils, pick the one you've never tried before!"

As Alphonse said I am currently in the middle of my first cook using the ET 733. My medium is acting up on me right now but the ET 733 is working great. I will update with a review in the am, bright and early hahaAlphonse said:There are a couple of folks here who are going to start a thread on their personal reviews of ET733. Stay tuned.Pure Michigan
