Hey guys anyone own a meat grinder? How does this one stack up?
http://www.amazon.ca/Stainless-Steel-Electric-Grinder-5-Pound/dp/B002L830W4/ref=sr_1_21?ie=UTF8&qid=1384731348&sr=8-21&keywords=meat+grinder
Its 0.25 hp with all steel gearing.
The other I looked at had 575 watts i'm not sure if that's more or less than 0.25hp???
Thanks.

Only thing is the 575 watt LEM is only 129.00 and this one 269.00.Kinda makes me wonder why the more powerful one is cheaper? Both are LEM why are some rated in watts and others HP?Hows ya gettin' on, me ol ****?Kippens.Newfoundland and Labrador. (Canada).

Not sure how much you want to spend but cabela's makes some very good grinders. They have like a five year bumper to bumper warenty. They also sell many attachments. Myself and four other guys split the cost of the 1hp model. So it was about $100 a man. But we use it to grind deer and we make sausage using two hogs each year. But on the other end if you want to get a grinder on the cheep, the warning pro model that is sold by many retailers worked for a many of deer for my brother. Just MUCH slower than the cabelas model. Bed bath and beyond did sell them and you could use a 20% off coupon to get it for around $80. Or if you look around on the Internet they are sold reconditioned for about $50.
Loos luck
