wont stay open

I got my large BGE last august and love it. but recently the top wont stay open when you open it up. its almost like the springs are worn out. Any ideas? is that covered in the warranty?

Seems like an assembly issue to me. I don't think my egg uses the springs when fully open, the lid is 'leaning back' a bit, held on by the straps. In fact, some with loose bands have had the lid fall off and break. :(

I assembled it myself and watched the videos and read the instructions correctly. that's why im confused

Put a level from front to back to make sure its not leaning forward.

Maybe some of the hinge bolts have loosened? My dome stiffened right up when I overtightened my hinge pivot bolt if loose the dome may become looser?Hows ya gettin' on, me ol ****?Kippens.Newfoundland and Labrador. (Canada).
