Labor Day Ribs & Beans

Fishlessman's post on Aug 27, (some beans and some ribs) inspired me to try the beans on Labor day. I was planning to do the ribs and trying to think up something to go with them. I had an old bean pot in the cabinet and had wondered if it would work in the egg. Thanks to Fishlessman, I decided to give it a shot. I used his recipe with BBQ sauce and stick the beanpot in the egg along with the ribs. Six hours at a rock solid 250°F.(gotta love the egg). I took the top off the pot about an hour before the ribs were done and gave the beans a stir.

It was great. The beans were a real hit. The Mother-in-law commented several times that she "really liked those beans". Everyone loved them. I'll definitely do this again and often. The pot worked great and now has a use for living and will no longer be stuck in the back of the cabinet. Thanks, Fishlessman!
