Get the Large, There are enough after market goodies to take on any size cook. You have to keep in mind fuel consumption. Personally - I would feel guilty firing up a XL for 2 steaks. Either way you go, you will not be dissapointed.68% of statistics are made up on the spot.

I have cooked plenty of holiday meals on my large. Indirect is a must, either plate setter, spider, or AR required. Don't get too hung up on what you can afford today... Just something for indirect and if you get an XL, perhaps the lump reducer for smaller cooks. The other accessories will come over time with birthdays, Christmas, fathersday, etc. picking the right size for you NOW is more important as it determines the accessories and way you will cook in the future. Also, mAny will complement their first egg with a sibling in the future. Then you get to ask this same question again - what size should I get with my large/XL... Welcome to the club.
