Problems with my egg

My large green eggs charcoal will not go out even after I shut both the draft door and the daisy wheel. My lid is also not aligned quite correctly but Im not sure if that's what is causing my charcoal problem. I watched a youtube clip on how to realign the lid but every time I reopen it it gets out of alignment again. Would appreciate some advice on how to correct this. Thanks.

Have you tried the dollar bill test? How are you checking to make sure the bolts are tight enough (20 ft/lbs)?

Have a ceramic cap? Use that instead of daisy wheel

Yeah, It seems to slide out a little to easy on one side. by bolts. are you talking about the two bolts that tighten the bands on the body and the lid?

Check the tightness on the small bolts that hold the hinge assembly to the Egg body. I had 2 that were not quite tight, and my dome refused to seal after every other opening.
