Tonight's Cook and Semi Clean Burn...

Simple cook tonight... An almost 3lb London broil. Down on the spider for 4min. side and then finished at regular grid height.
Dinner is finished and I'm sitting here burning a stick listening to the Tigers game while I cautiously do a little bit of a clean burn.
My plate setter needs it and the entire interior of my egg is black with a wicked sheen, even down in the firebox. Just a little scared letting her rip wide open with the crack in the base. Slowly taking her up above 500 and don't want to go much above 600. Figure on letting burn like for an hour or two then shutting it down.

Looks good @hapster we were in a tornado warning/watch during the 5 p.m. to 7 p.m hours and it was raining pretty heavy so no egging tonight for me. Going to go out to the garage and have a "stick" here in a couple of minutes. Takeout pizza for dinner works for the kids but upsets Dad.
I raise my kids, cook and golf. When work gets in the way I'm pissed, I'm pissed off 48 weeks a year.Inbetween Iowa and Colorado, not close to anything remotely entertaining outside of football season. -
Read your earlier post and then was at the store -- and saw a nice London Broil but was a little worried about pulling the trigger?? I'm thinking it must be handle like "tri tip"?

I would agree. I usually sear for 4 or 5 min a side and then move it up and flip it every 4 min till I hit the temp I want. Usually just coat it good with some Montreal Steak seasoning.Charlie tuna said:Read your earlier post and then was at the store -- and saw a nice London Broil but was a little worried about pulling the trigger?? Looks great Hap. Is that a Maduro?---------------------------------------------------------------------------------Well, "spa-Peggy" is kind of like spaghetti. I'm not sure what Peggy does different, if anything. But it's the one dish she's kind of made her own.____________________Aurora, Ontario, Canada

I enjoy a nice Macanudo Maduro from time to time... it's a good smoke. I see you're a Tiger's fan. They've got a potent lineup with Cabrera, Fielder and the rest. I'm a Ranger's fan myself; pay for the cable sports package and watch as many of the games as I can. Enjoy the rest of the season!---------------------------------------------------------------------------------Well, "spa-Peggy" is kind of like spaghetti.
