  • Gentlemen and ladies, I found out the/an answer for the chip problem. I went to "The Potters Center" in Boise, ID 208.378.1112 and the young man suggested SAIRSET Kiln cement (good to 2500 degrees) @$4.95 and I also purchased Mason Stain #6202 Florentine Green (powder). Found a 1/4" spatula at home, mixed the cement, added the stain to the right shade, mixed completely, and filled the gaps. Worked great. Color matched perfectly. Be sure to spritz the the crack etc. with water so that the water is not pulled out of the cement too quickly. After 30 min I went back over the deep gouge since a small crack had developed. I then took the plain cement and filled a gouge on the placesetter, worked great.
