Vent Cap Brass Thumb Screws?

BGE1983
Posts: 12
Anyone know where I can find some vent cap screws to help with adjusting that I can tighten and loosen to keep the vent cap at the same place while opening dome? Pics below are from eBay and they are wanting $47 for them and I'm not paying that much... Any help will be appreciated... The last pic is the way i have it now with a wing nut attached to a screw and it works but dont look great lol... Thanks

I don't think it looks bad.Green egg, dead animal and alcohol. The "Boro".. TN

I just turn the cap so the DW screw is towards the handle, that way when I lift the lid the DW doesn't move.

fukahwee maineyou can lead a fish to water but you can not make him drink it -
Fastenal will have that stuff. You have two hex head machine screws, probably 1" long, two wing nuts and a few washers. Stainless by the look of them. Not sure if the screws are metric or not but I seem to remember they are either 10-24 or 1/4-20. Take them with you. You may een get lucky at a big box.

+1 on what LS said. Your set-up certainly is not $47 ugly.

Have used mine on 50+ low n slow cooks and it still slides. I put mine in warm egg every time I cook though to clean it. Mine turns very easily.Columbia, SC --- LBGE 2011 -- MINI BGE 2013

Go to a Ace Hardware and get the few parts you need . But before you go order some Wicked Good. The parts probably won't be 2 bucks.
I may do that to mine ,only adding a spring to adjust while still under some pressure.

2 bags coming to the store down the street for cheaper than the cowboy I have to buy because I can't find anything else.
Medium, and XL eggs in Galloway NJ. Just outside of Atlantic City. -
I think I can remember where to set my Daisy Wheel for my cooks. Screws not necessary. Everybody that knows me has been warned not to touch my Egg at the risk of serious repercussions. Spend the $47 on good meat.Simple ingredients, amazing results!

Your wanting something from keeping your daisy wheel from moving? Align the large wheel with the back so when you lift open the lid gravity will take effect and it won't move. The little holes don't move._______________________________________________XLBGE
