Cover my egg?
Kmacula
Posts: 3
I've been enjoying my XL egg since April of this year. I have it nested in an outdoor kitchen (right beside an over-priced gas grill who is beginning to feel neglected).
Question: do most of you cover your egg when not in use? Since mine is nested I can't bring it in from the elements, but as of yet, I haven't covered it. Should I?
Thanks.

I think you should cover it. The ceramic is probably fine in the elements but the hinges, handle and nest will definately benefit from being covered.

I only cover the egg if there is a hail storm forecasted or when we go out of town. Otherwise large egg sits out in the elements.Large, small and mini now Egging in Rowlett Tx

Same here - no problem although the wood on the handle and wings of the nest are showing wear - getting loose after 8 years of exposure. Probably would last longer if covered but I use it too much to deal with that hassle.Mighty_Quinn said:mine sits uncovered 24/7/365 in the colorado sun, snow, ice, wind...we get it all.
