split roast time.

Planning on doing a butt roast this weekend. By splitting into 2 5lb instead of 1 10 lb, how will that effect my time. I might do 4 5lb. I am going to try different methods on each one to experiment...

That should cut your time down considerably.  Cook time is roughly time per pound, since you cut the weight in half, you dramatically cut down your cook time.

I figure around 2 hr/lb but didn't know if more meat meant more time...other than the initial cold. What about the stall...longer?

That's all dependent on your egg temp.  If you cook lower, like 225, might be 1.5-2 hours/pound.  The stall will be longer.  Cook closer to 300 and you'll have a shorter stall, maybe 1-1.5 hours a pound.  With more meat in the egg, you'll need more heat to maintain a given temp - all that energy is cooking more meat faster when you have smaller chunks of meat.  More surface area, bla bla bla.... :)

Oh, I'm just guessing here....5 pound butt, doesn't matter how many you cook 1 or 4....1.5 hours a pound plus or minus?  So maybe 7-8 hours.
