fitting bbq guru adapter plate to lower vent

I just received my BBQ Guru Cyberq wifi. Has anyone had problems with the adapter plate staying in the lower vent? I have a large egg and ordered the kit for the large. Didn't know if any of you have had the same problem and if you found a solution that works the best.
Also, I am very surprised that the dome thermometer is reporting lower than the grate temp. Did any of you check the calibration of the guru before you installed. The dome temperature gauge has been calibrated recently and is accurate.
Thanks for any help in advance. Great site.

when you place the adapter in be sure to push it to the left and push up on the extension on the adapter into the track locking it into place . as for temp as the cook goes on the two will match pretty close dome temp will always show higher tho cause heat rises . I've used my digiq a few times and it works flawlesslyLarge Big Green Egg , XL Big Green Egg . BBQ Guru, Weber Kettle, Weber Q grill for road trips.

Put the adapter in first, secure it as right to the top track as possible. Slide it all the way left, then insert the fan sliding from right to left. After all the way left, slide the Coves over pushing in on the fan metal so it gets covered by the slide.

I'm surprised too. 100% of the time, my dome temp is higher than my grid temp when the plate setter is in for a low and slow. When I start out, It's sometimes 50 - 75 degrees higher in the dome. They become closer as the cook goes on.

The dome temperature gauge has been calibrated recently and is accurate.I'd test your digiQ probe and dome thermometer in boiling water at the same time to check for accuracy. Also, make sure you grid probe is not too close to the meat and not too close to the edge where the high heat is rising.Packerland, Wisconsin -
i had to bend the adaptor a little to get the contour right to get a good fit .
