Stupid question about plastic pop out timer

I just bought a fresh turkey breast that i plan on smoking/spatchcock style this weekend. It came with the plastic pop out timer dealie. Should I remove it before putting the gal in the Egg? I guess it goes in ovens all of the time but, for some reason, I think that this is different.

It won't cause any problems. Get a thermapen some day soon. Worth the $$$$$

I would say to leave it in so there is not an open hole for the juices to escape out of. That's just my knee-jerk thought, and others may disagree.Amateur Egger; professional rodeo clown. Birmingham, AL

Do yourself a favor, if it pops, it's probably over cooked.Bx - > NJ ->TX!!!All to get cheaper brisket!

+1 with tazcrash-although I would go a bit further-if it pops it is overcooked.Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period. CHEETO (aka Agent Orange) makes Nixon look like a saint.
