Looking to smoke/cook something this memorial day weekend. We will be in and out of the house all weekend so a long overnight smoke is not in order yet.
I have done 4 hour baby back ribs - awesome. I have done a spatchcocked chicken - good.
Looking for something to make and may invite some friends over as well. What can I smoke/cook that will be ready in ~3-4 hours?
Thanks
Rob

Defnitely butterfly whole chicken "under brick" is another awesome cook. I love doing these. It is a direct grill cook ~325. I am not sure where I got my specific recipe, though.

Pork loin.Stuffed or not.Beef Rib roast (prime rib)Beef RibsBx - > NJ ->TX!!!All to get cheaper brisket!

I did wings last Friday night. Not a 3 to 4 hour cook, but everyone loved them.

Turbo butt sounds like a good idea.
Maybe beef ribs - never had them - Cook the same way as pork ribs? Different rub?
Prime rib I want to do but not spending that much on my cheap friends.
Pizza in the future too once i get a stone and the Adjustable rig.

Tri tip can't be beat either

Pork loin is good. You don't have to do it low and slow because it is very lean. You could do it anywhere from 300-350 and it is done at 145 IT.

Tried a turbo pork shoulder - Came out good.
Fire/heat stalled again after 3 hours. Made a wiggle stick to free up the ash vents on the bottom and heat shot back up. I do not know if its the bag of BGE lump (95% small pieces) or what. I will look at the other great that allows more air through.

Try Wicked Good for long cooks. Big pieces that are very dense. That should solve it.

I switch to Wiched Good and I have had better luck on long cooks. A lot of big pieces of lump.
