I've tried a lot of recipes, but I always keep coming back to the old Betty Crocker recipe I've used for 25 years. (note: Substitute "Egg" for "oven")1 ½ lb. Beef, ground
½ cup Cracker crumbs
2 Eggs, beaten
1 8 oz. can Tomato sauce
¼ cup Onion , finely chopped
2 tablespoons Bell pepper, chopped
1 dash Thyme, dried, crushed
1 dash Marjoram, dried, crushed
1 teaspoon Salt- -- Topping --
- ½ cup Ketchup
- 1 tablespoon Sugar, brown, packed
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 2 teaspoons Lemon juice
- ½ teaspoon Horseradish, prepared
1.Mix all ingredients. Shape into loaf and bake at 350º for 1 1/4 hours.2.15 or 20 minutes before meatloaf is done, apply topping and return to oven.__________________________________________Dripping Springs, Texas.Just west of Austintatious -

lol. I don't know any recipes that are exclusive "egg recipes". A recipe is a recipe, and if it can be adapted to the egg, that's great !!! But, I have never seen one that can only be cooked on the Egg because any cook the Egg can do, another device can do it too ..... grilling, smoking, baking, stir frying, etc. The good thing about the Egg is that it can do them all, but none are exclusive to the Egg (that I know of)__________________________________________Dripping Springs, Texas.Just west of Austintatious -
I like the carlucci Brothers recipe from the meatloaf throwdown with Bobby Flay. Can be found all over the internet and I think I might have put it on my site. Can't 'member right now.

@ Village idiot...(btw...Love your name haha) Yup I'm with you that all recipes can be cooked on the egg...but it seems to me that some have been tried & true on the egg and at the eggfests and have been proven so make it into the egg recipe books ( especially if there good). @ Griffin... I do have a healthy version of the Bobby Flay books ( I wonder if meat loaf coulda made it in a healthier cook book haha) and I do believe Flay uses predominantly on the Weber so I will check there thanx... The wife wanted to make meatloaf tonight in the oven, but after reading this, I say why not in the egg? My only question, is that we usually use a loaf pan for the oven - do you do the same thing in the egg or just put it directly on the grid?
Thansk.

I've done it both ways and both ways work, but if you set it directly on the grid you will probably want some kind of a drip pan under it. And I alway cook meatloaf indirect.
