I also have the 9 1/2" and you are the first poster that I have read that said the 10' woo would work. I would appreciate additional information on how you got it to work. This is really good news!
Thank You,
Phil

I have 2 grates for my mini. One came with the mini and the other I bought when I purchased the mini. One grate is 9.5 and fits the woo perfectly and the other is 10 inches. I don't know which came with the egg and which one I purchased. The 9.5 is the most used and the 10 is kept clean and used when I do baking on the mini. Here are a few mini cooks:

Thanks! If you are using both grates can you lower the lid?

Guys Tom used to make a smaller Woo. Now makes only for the 10". Please call him before you order.Salado TX & 30A FL: Egg Family: 3 Large and a very well used Mini, added a Mini Max when they came out (I'm good for now). Just given another Mini to add to the herd.

Just to clarify, I'm using the 9.5" SS grid on a Woo designed for a 10" grid but it is hardly what I'd consider ideal. I bought the Woo with the full intention of finding a 10" grid or getting a buddy who can weld and bend bar make a little reducing ring for me. The ceramic grill store is quite clear that you should have a 10" grid for a proper fit with the current Mini Woo.Why BGE upsized and then downsized the grid is beyond me. When they come out with a 10" grid I will gladly buy one.bamafan62 - since you asked, here's a couple of pics of what the 9.5" SS grid looks like on the Woo:With the left side seated properly but the right side is riding a little high:
and another way I've used it (pizza stone & small drip pan) - grid sits on the drip pan and not in contact with the Woo at all:
Certainly both of the above pics are less than optimal set ups and even a bit precarious. This is really not what I intend on using long term as neither set up is as secure as having the right sized grid for the Woo.XL, Large, Small, Mini Eggs, M&M BBQ Texas Smoke King, Shirley Fabrication 24x36 Patio, Humphrey's Weekender, Karubecue C-60, MAK 1-Star General, Hasty Bake Gourmet, Santa Maria Grill, Webers: 14" WSM, 22.5" OTG, 22.5" Kettle Premium, WGA Charcoal

To answer the upsize/downsize question from what I got from Egg and put 2&2 togather. Egg went to a 10" grill on the Mini and was shipping them out that way (I got one of the first). Next at Egg someone thought to go to SS (a very good idea) BUT when they sent the spec's to have all the new grills made in SS for the Mini's they sent the old style 9.5" grill by mistake and they had produced a ton of 9.5" SS. It would cost to much to toss all the newstyle 9.5" so they included with the new Mini's. Now I know as fact (I have ordered several and sent one to the war zone) you can get a 10" by ordering a 9.5P.At least last year you could. Now someone said they are being shipped with 10" but I have not seen it. I have 4 Mini's on order for my Salado Fest to give a prizes and Lawn Ranger has 3 on order for his deal. When they get here hope they are updated. Two reason for wanting update: First, must be 10" to fit a Mini Woo and Second the 9.5 is too small. Back to the First, you will want the Mini Woo as soon as you can get it.
