Grilling filets on my friends egg because my is a month before I get it. Has anybody grilled filet minion. What temp is good. Indirect or direct?

Filets are my favorite. Medium rare, remove at 130 internal, I Like medium, remove at 140 internal both direct. I tried hot tubbing and searing recently and the steaks were awesome.

amen to the T-Rex method. I cooked a couple filets that way last week and it was one of the best steaks I have ever had!

My last two steak cooks done the T-Rex method. I now know I ruined every steak I ever cooked before the T-Rex method.

T-Rex!! I run mine up as hot as I can get it, usually 800*+ to sear for 1-1 1/2 minutes per side. Pull the steaks, cool'r down and finish at 400*. You won't find a finer steak! Pull at 120* and cover with foil to rest for rare, 125* for medium rare. Anything beyond that go to Burger King and send me your filets!
