Can Bradford Pear Wood be used for Smoking?

Not sure if this can be used for smoking or not. I don't think this tree actually produces "fruit". The wood is plentiful in Eastern NC.

Why cant it be used?
Just because it's not fruit bearing doesnt mean it's necessarily unsuitable

Give it a shot. This stuff isnt complicated. If it smells good, it'll taste good. Try it solo, then add chicken breast or something neutral if you want a true test

Only thing i wouldnt smoke with is poision ivy

Do a little googling at least. There's a lot of people using it who like it. I frankly can't imagine not trying it just because one anonymous guy on the 'net says no, but that's just me

I had been told by others bradford pear as not good to use. Decided to do a little surfing and found several sources saying it IS good. It produces a light, fruity smoke but the wood burns very hot. I stand corrected and thankfully so. My dad has several bradford trees in his yard.
