POTLIFTER - worth every penny!

I've had a POTLIFTER for several years now and seldom use it, but when I do it's worth the $27.00 expenditure long ago. Today I noticed my medium in its nest has gotten cockeyed as for the lower vent. It tried to gently lay the egg and nest over on the side thinking (ya dumb idea :S ) that I could shift it that way and set it back up. Of course humpty gently tumbled out of the nest! I got it set back up straight but needed it back up in the nest. I grabbed two things - my POTLIFTER and my petite wife who can barely lift anything. Within seconds it was back in the nest with no strain to speak of!

Thanks for the post. I've been thinking of getting one but didn't know how much I would use it. Every time I have to lift an egg I wish I had one.

Dale I got ours on ebay a month or so ago. Neil said we would not use it enough LOL the three times we have he has eaten his words himself

if we take an egg to NH next week it will be easy to load

I'm not a big guy at all, but using that POTLIFTER I can lift my small egg out of my waist high table all by myself.

I agree!
I have had a potlifter for several years and it is worth every penny spent.
Our camping club does a bbq at one of our campouts each year, and I usually bring both my small and my medium to smoke butts for the group. The potlifter makes moving the eggs a whole lot easier.

I definitely agree. I got it to use with my small for camping and the like. I can carry the small without it, but it's nice to have handles!

yup - you can carry your small with ease like an overstuffed duffel bag! That was my point about being able to lift my small out of my waist high table - as long as you have some arm and upper torso strength the handles give you surprising leverage.

Julie .. I was looking at one on Amazon for 21.50. I needed 3.50 more for free shipping so I started looking at pocket knives. I found a nice one for 105.00. :woohoo: At least I didn't have to pay for shipping. I didn't get it, yet.

but it sounds like you can buy them some other places a few bucks cheaper. OTOH take a look around that site as they offer some other unusal items for the lawn and garden.

I thought you had a demo cook this weekend or was it last? How did it go? I'm getting ready for my 3rd evening egging class this year - hard to believe I've been teaching these classes for 5 years now!
