YUK! I found ooey gooey icky yucky brown stuff comin out of me egg while it was comin up 2 temp sat nite, it looked as tho it was sweatin brown goo

Grease from lo-n-slo cooks. Just keep wiping it off until no more comes out.

no. it's not necessarily from low and slow cooks alone.
the egg gets wet, especially if it isn't used regularly. when you spark it off after a particularly long time or rainy period, the water ins the ceramic heats up and is driven out. it carries dirt and fats with it. no big deal. happens rarelyed egli avea del cul fatto trombetta -Dante -
hey Ashley, did the top get left off and maybe some rain went in? dad did that one time and he panicked thinking that he had a crack in it bottom. it was coming out the screen door edge LOL

I haven't used in awhile & did get pretty wet in May, it was just nasty when I first saw it, first thought was me egg was ruined or something

I've had brown sweat twice on my older Egg. If I recall, it happened after I had some cooks with lots of fat dripping, followed by the Egg sitting in rain storms for a few days. Next fire, the moisture in the ceramic carried out the grease. Just washed it with dish soap.

Amazing. I thought the Egg had a fired-on ceramic, that certainly didn't look porous. I'da freaked out had I seen what a couple of you have posted!
