Tried making this recently and it was out if this world HOT. I usually like a little spice but somehow I must have made it to spicy. Does grilling the jalapeno make it spicier? I took all of the seeds out after grilling as well. Should I take all of the seeds out before grilling? Any and all suggestions welcome!

Grilling the peppers usually mellows them out. You may have just gotten a super hot batch.

I made it last week and used one jalapeño to 6 plum tomatoes and it was just at the edge of my tolerance, but I don't go past medium. Next time I will use half a jalapeño.
My salsa also had a burn to it, what I would like to get is that slow heat that builds as you eat it but doesn't burn. Maybe I will try some other peppers.
I am trying again this weekend. -
I only used 1 jalepeno when I made it, and left a few of the seeds. It was perfect for my taste. Next time, try adding the jalepeno to the rest of the ingredients a little at a time, til you get the heat level you want.Happily egging on my original large BGE since 1996... now the owner of 5 eggs. As I recall I used one jalepeno and one serrano, the heat mellows quite a bit the next day. -RP

Thanks for all of the suggestions. I may have used a little bit to high of jalepeno to tomato ratio.
