Where does the grease go?

I just sold an XL egg that I only used 5-6 times for pizza and steaks cuz it was too big for 2 of us. I bought a medium that I've used 5-6 times now in only a week and want to try a few butts. I have cooked butts on the pellet grill and end up with quite a bit of grease in the drip pail, 12-20 ounces for two butts. If I cook them on the egg, where does all that grease go? Does it burn up on the coals?

I use a drip pan for butts. For other stuff like chicken, burgers, sausages, etc, it just burns up.

I use a drip pan, on my XL, on anything I cook indirect. chicken, pork butt, ribs, roast, etc.

I use a sheet of HD Al foil with the edges turned up. I can size it any way I like and it does the job quite nicely.

Makes sense, thanks for the answer!
