How do you know when it is necessary to replace the gasket??

    if you want, post this in the main forum and you'll get more answers... but essentially, if you have trouble maintaining temps, or there is too much smoke leaking out (you get to define what 'too much' is), then you might want to consider it.

    some cook on toasted gaskets with no worries. it's primarily a cushion, a gasket second.
