I'm spatcocked cooking a chicken now.
Where does my DIGI Q food temp need to be placed ?
I have it in the breast
Its reading 140 but the thighs are still real red almost raw.

I would say move it to the thigh. Do you have a thermapen you can check the dark meat with? You will need to get the dark meat to a higher temp anyway.
The other thing you can do is put the legs towards the fire to get more heat on them. -
I think you are looking for about 160 breast, 180 deep in the thigh.
If you use smoke sometimes the bird will look pinnkish even when fully cooked. Make sure to check it carefully, but trust your thermometer!Which came first the chicken or the egg? I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg. -

For faster cooks, like chicken, burgers and such, it really isn't necessary to use the q2. Cook the bird to temperature 165° breast and thigh and legs and you will have a done, tender and moist chicken.

The back of the egg tends to run hotter than the front, so when cooking a spatchcocked chicken, I tend to run the butt towards the back, and neck (if it still had one) towards the front of the egg.BJ (Powhatan, VA)
