I helped my parents clean out the debris at one of their two rental houses today. Among the items were a cast iron dutch oven with 2 lids, a cast iron "stick" corn bread pan, and a small(about 6 inch) cast iron skillet. All were a bit rusty with the skillet in the best shape. My Mom gave them to me and said I could burn them off in a fire place.

In the egg do I put them directly on the coals or on a grid? 500 degrees dome good enough? One load of charcoal till it cools off?
