BBQ in Raleigh or Cary NC?

House hunting with my sister in the Raleigh NC area the next few days and looking for good BBQ. Any ideas? TIA

Ed Mitchell's Pit is ok, but nothing special. I liked his sides better than his meat. There used to be a killer diller place in Garner, but they closed. Too much Texas stuff for these Carolina folks, I reckon. His beef ribs were killer diller. But that doesn't help any.

I've heard Allen and Son is the real deal and worth the trip over to Chapel Hill. here's a link:

We used to go to Allen & Son, even from Durham, it was a bit of a drive. Bullock's in Durham is OK if you're looking for Eastern NC style BBQ.

The Pit is good in Raleigh. I do like Danny's BBQ in Cary. I've always enjoyed it. They have a couple of locations.

This place rates well. Haven't had it though.

Ole Time BBQ has been on Hillsorbough for years. IT's okay. Nothing special. IT would do in a pinch.

Good luck. Enjoy your time here. Lots of areas look like warzones though.
