Have an XL since november 2008. Had a spot the size of a silver dollar pop off near the top. Sent pics to HO asking if there were a fix or if covered under warranty? Didn't flinch and said new top on the way.
ooops new top arrived but looked like someone threw it out of the delivery truck while driving by. Broken in dozen pieces.
No problem sent me another one which arrived safe and sound. If weather holds up will try to get replaced this weekend. Couldn't be happier, looking forward to adding to my XL with a small or medium
Sidenote: they were going to have me send back the original top for inspection but said just keep it. I plan to just put it up in the attic as a backup. Is there a website that sells undamaged used parts? Might try to piece together a used one.

Maybe not but after they decided they didn't want to send it back I hope I can figure out some good use for it. Even though it has less value with the defect I think it still can find a home.

I have a smashed one lying down the back of my property. Haven't been down to see if anything is salvageable
