Valeria\'s Calidad Crazy Nachos
Beli
Posts: 10,751
Well, Valeria won, as Chubby correctly said, "The Mexican Package"at the Salado raffle  it was a nice basket full of goodies including a Nachos Bag.
Today after she came back from her dance class she realized there was a recipe at the back of the Nachos Bag & she decided to give it a try tonight:
6 oz Calidad Chips
1lb lean ground beef
1/3 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1/4 tsp. orégano
1/4 cup white onion, diced
1 cup grated mexican blend cheese
1/4 cup tomatoes, diced
1/4 cup green poblano chiles, diced
1/4 cup green onions, diced
Sour cream to taste
Loren added:
Lettucce
1/2 tsp.Paprika
1/2 tsp. Cumin
Fired up the Egg to 350*
Combine beef with diced onions and seasoning until brown, stirring occasionaly. Drain, Spread chips out in a pyrex. Spread cooked beef evenly over chips. Sprinkle with cheese and chiles. Bake for 8-10 minutes, Top with sour cream, diced tomatoes, diced green onions, sliced poblanos.
This turned into a delicious dinner & a real value added to a simple Nachos Bag
ENJOY

Oh my goodness, she is adorable. What a smile that sweet girl has! And she can cook!!
I knew you came home with a stash of stuff from Salado, and Valeria made good work of it! Felicidades.....Happily egging on my original large BGE since 1996... now the owner of 5 eggs. Call me crazy, everyone else does!

Faith, she enjoyed Salado sooo much, made really good friends with Mickey's grand daughters Georgia & Grace and with another friend Hailey., Hope Mickey sees this because Loren's been wanting me to ask him for some photos of Valeria & the girls taken I think by Heather Mickey's daughter
-
Looks like Valeria is a very, very good cook! And beautiful too....
Those nachos look very yummy....am printing the recipe and will definitely try these soon. -
TKS Elizabeth, she's 8 and she's already got a Mini  not bad considering how long it took me to get one
-

I don't know what's more gorgeous, the nacho dish or the women in your family. I live close to the Mexican border and love all that food...don't care whether it's authentic or not, it is A-list!Judy in San Diego -
Hoss she loves cooking & yes she's growing up fast, she is the youngest & tallest in her class I think she's the splitting image of her mum which I don't mind at all
-
Hey Judy TKS, would you believe we finished ALL those nachos, first time ever, well the smokey flavour is just terrific, a completely different dimension to any nachos I've had before. We must try & go to the fests in your part of the world, which ones do you reccomend?
-
Beli,
Don't let her cook any more - some young man will come along too soon as it is
She is getting more beautiful day by day....Loren sure has good genes :woohoo:
Great to see you and the ladies again.
Thanks so much for the gift.
Will look for those wine glasses

I've only been to Atlanta and Southern California, and I'm going to Florida next week. So I don't know what to recommend.
Perhaps you noticed all the public relations work Chubby is doing on the forum for Eggs by the Bay in mid-June...it's not on the San Francisco side of the bay, but on the eastern side. The whole San Francisco Bay area is so interesting, and it includes the wine country, so I think that one would be a great experience.Judy in San Diego -
Calidad chips are great. Beli, I need to tell you about my "former life" with Mission Foods.
-
She looks like she's really enjoying the moment. A very proud moment.
She will soon be a Master Egghead like her Father.
