I always got a kick out of posts where the steak is done right on the coals. Always think about May24 when we would eat burgers that got dropped in the fire
Anyways, you guys have not steered me wrong yet, so I picked up some cheap steak to try this with..one word...AWSOME!!!!
Also did a warm radicchio salad that turned out really well.
Some pics
Steaks on the coals
Radicchio and peppers warming up
Radicchio, peppers chopped and dressed with a balsamic dressing with some grated parm...this is tasty
Plated
The steak was really juicy, and went great with the salad. Brussel sprouts are a new favourite off the EGG(thanks Molly)
Thanks for looking

Looks great!!! I love doing caveman meat. It sure makes the guests raise and eyebrow or two.

Hey Dave
I picked that one up from Molly
I put these on frozen, seems to work fine, but these are on the smaller size
Shane -
 Hey Tony
That was my concern, but I found
if the fire is hot, there seems to be minimal ash.
Some coals do stick, but they knock off easy.
Shane -
Hey Dave
These were put on right out of the freezer, just seasoned with a little salt and pepper when finished
Molly posted them with La bomba done in a CI pan which I still have to try
Shane -
Thank you Slotmercenary
Shane -
Thanks! Gonna try that on mi CI grid - hadn't thought of putting on direct. Unfortunately out of season, but can always get Cali grown...

Shane,
Did you have to brush off the steak before you put it on the grill. (I've never done one but am interested) Randy -
I do my fajitas all the time directly on the coals, right before i put on the meat i use a hair dryer and blow away excess ash.
I dont even rinse off my marinade before putting them on. -
 Thanks Gary
Give this a try, it works great
Shane -
Hey Randy
No, there was minimal ash.
Just had to knock a couple of coals off.

YUM!!! That is a fine lookin meal.

One good way to do brussel sprouts on the egg is to coat them in olive oil, salt them kinda heavy and cook in a CI skillet or pan. This works for carrots also.
-
That's how I usually do them...i'm going to try this though...
-
Shane, I've yet to do a caveman steak, but it looks tasty and fun!
