crispy polenta pie

Ushered in the first 70+ degee day of the season in the hut by calling an all points f-off day, and was able to coax a couple buddies into sharing it with me.
Began with some frostys, made some pies, & ended glued to my seat.

For the cook I tried to purge some ingredients from the kitchen, specifically a block of parmigiano from a Christmas gift basket. Not wanting to sully a good bowl of pasta with it I thought it would go well with a small batch of polenta. In the end it grated into a cup which I added to a cup of polenta, an edible ratio, applied to the pie with random blobs of c-crack – complementing two plum tomato pies.

was a good day

How'd you sober up enough to post this?
And I notice the left foot is dry, what's up with that? -
it took about an hour & a half to work out the details, which turned out to be enough time for the beer to soak into my sockhappy in the hut

wooowa, 70 degrees, that's spring fever temps. We are in a heat wave all the way up to 42 today, snow melting but we still have a 4 foot pile at the end of the drive, looks like a receding glacier. I'll miss the snow, really.
Beautiful pizza for the St. Patrick's party and a great sign for the shack... declares your territory, warns intruders. Nice!
Cheers. -
Love the third pic Marc. Pretty sure that pie was delish with some brews!! :laugh:Molly

we've been hovering in the 50's, little 60's, & yesterday broke through the 70 barrier & got up to 73. Snow's been long gone too, little flowers are popping up, great day to hold a marathon party in the huthappy in the hut

it was good, I have a small tray of polenta left over, thinking I'm going to fry it all & do this one over, maybe in a large Sicilian version thoughhappy in the hut

The fried polenta looks excellent!!
Never thought of that on a pizza, but I bet it was excellent. -
it was good Bob, gave a nice texture to the pie. Had the rough equivalent texture of a nicely fried piece of scrapple, which although I've thought about putting on a pie, haven't pulled the trigger as of yethappy in the hut

  why not go all out and make a polenta and scrapple pie with tomato grits and velveeta cheese   i cant get past the polenta, sorry, would really have to look for that in a specialty section up here and would probably need to pay top dollar to have scrapple shipped here :laugh:fukahwee maineyou can lead a fish to water but you can not make him drink it
-
www.jerseyporkroll.com cold ships 2 lb hunks of Habbersett Scrapple @$17.99 + $12.95 for shipping. So roughly 30 bucks for 2 pounds of heaven :ermm: :laugh:happy in the hut

that's pretty much a given  . I was told of my misbehavior this morning of which there were apparently several varieties. It was a long discussion :ohmy:happy in the hut

only had scrapple once, that was enough
if i paid that for it i would need to convince people it was good  now a boston baked bean and hotdog pizza, now we are talking, bean town pizza

Was it made clear to you exactly what you did that caused such wrath or was it the old "you have transgressed the unwritten law" explanation?

hard to say, I had a difficult time 'locking in' on the conversation, in fact I'm sure that difficulty itself was/is one of the transgressionshappy in the hut

You can make your own by grinding up pork liver, brains, pancreases, tongue, gonads, feet and kidneys with equal parts sausage casings. Tastes better fresh in my humble opinion. Be sure not to overcook
