mini egg pizza doughball weight

Has anyone determined the average weight of a pizza dough ball that would open up to be a 6" to 8" pizza, thick or thin crust. My stones are 8.5" and I want to stay under that diameter for the crust.

According to this post 1oz = 1" diameter. but don't hold me to it.

There must be a zillion pizza recipes out there. I have a recipe from "the fearless kitchen" that states the 6oz doughball size is/was not quite enough to fill their 14" stone. Go figger. I think I will start with some 3oz dough balls and see what that does for a thin crust diameter. If it is more than 8in, I can always trim..lol. Thanks for the input. UPEgger
