Life of replacement seals

What is the normal life for the replacement seals? Changed out felt seals with BGE seeals new and they only lasted for 2 cookings...is this normal?

Hard to say, since I've been eggin' without gaskets for several years, now......

Go without a gasket. I have noticed no difference in any way.
