Ku would be right at home in Salado during the Clan Gathering. It was my first (and last one) but it was interesting.
At the time I was one of the Charter Members of Clan MacMillan Society of Texas and volunteered to draft the Clan's first newsletter.

It has a few photos that should give Ku some idea of what it was all about.
The MacMillan Clan was not very exciting and seemed like no one wanted to do anything so I dropped out in favor of Eggfests where there's no end to Eggcitement.
But I was involved in it long enough to get my DNA tested and made available on line so that my rich relatives can find me (or something like that). Quite a few matches but only one perfect match. He didn't reply to my calls.
Oh yea, I even tried to stir up some interest among Eggheads to make kilts the official Egghead uniform but got no takers. Could have something to do with flying sparks. Here's the link to the type of kilts I was pushing.

Judy wouldn't buy me one because I already run aroung half naked at the Chicken Ranch as it is. That is true.
But tell Ku to bring his kilt. Perfect place to wear it.

I would really like to make that this year. Specially if the lovely Loren and my princess Valeria are going to attend.

Steve,
Wish it was in the cards this year but it isn't. Texans are very tall aren't they? I mean except for Chubby.

We were up at Mackinac this summer. Had pasties on the way there, about an hour south. Good good stuff. We're doing beef stew this week...I might have to save some of the leftovers for pasties.

being from MI, we have eaten some very nice pasties while traveling around the Upper. 30 or 40 years ago there were several roadside pasty stands. the best were run by little old ladies that produced the most tender ,flakey crusts you could imagine. most used rutabagga as well as potato, meat, and onion. that was when these ladies used to still make for their husbands to take to work in the mines. times have really changed and nearly all the pasty stands are long gone. some restraunts still make and sell them, but the majority are akin to a hot pockets with tough crust and dry filling. (hint) if they ask if you want gravy, you better take it. shingleton,mi still sells a decent pasty at the general store (if they are still open this year). as I said, times have changed.
