Ice fishing and perch pizza! Pic heavy

We went ice fishing today! It was pretty warm today so even though it was windy on the lake it was just the usual cold! :P
Here is Dave, my mountain man!

And me and Tucker - he loved it out there!

Here is the fried perch... Prepping for my pie!

I love it - when it's cooked right (courtesy of the mountain man) it peels right off the bone

My finished pile...

I picked up some great fresh dough from my local pizza place; my sauce was onions, garlic, fresh basil, diced tomatoes, s/p, cayenne pepper and soy sauce.

Here it is, almost completely dressed... Perch(sprinkled with DP swamp venom), thin red onion, orange pepper, black olives, and jalepenos on David's side

Dressed, with mozz and Monterey jack

Cooked at about 500, and ready to eat!

Crust was great, and the flavor was AMAZING! It was definately an experiment worth repeating!

Thanks for looking!
Best wishes for happy and healthy new year!

OMG, that looks SOOOOOO good, Julia!! Never heard of a fish pizza (well, except anchovies), but as long as there are no artichoke hearts involved, I'm good with that!
Tucker is awesome, BTW!!I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

Thanks, Michael! I didn't think I could lose - pretty basic pie (except for the perch part! :silly: ) but it was better than I thought - the cayenne in the sauce and the venom on the perch gave it a perfect kick! Tucker is my boy...

Thanks, Molly!

Man-Oh-Man... that looks wonderful. I sure like ice fishin' and perch is one of my favorites. Problem is I could never wait long enough to get them on a pizza.
Maybe I'll make a mental note to give that a try.Happy Trails~thirdeye~Barbecue is not rocket surgery -
Haha - I understand! We both ate a few plain but saved the rest for the pie; we also have another pile to cook up tomorrow!
-
What a fun day. The pizza looks just great. Happy New Year to you and your mountain man!

Looks good just need a picture of the fish on the ice.

Looks like a Zippy pie but I can pronounce all the ingredients

Very nice Julia,, Tucker's grown  -
Our daily limit is 50. Yes fifty. And get this, on several reservoirs, we can have 6 lines (a tip-up or a rod is one line) at one time. Needless to say the action gets really hot when they are hitting.Happy Trails~thirdeye~Barbecue is not rocket surgery

No pics of the fish... It's kind of a regular thing for us... Had I known I was going to post perch pizza, I would have taken some!
 -
"perch pizza" has to be the worst tag line of the year

But damn it turned out good. And an outstanding looking Tucker!
Never thought that had a chance.Salado TX & 30A FL: Egg Family: 3 Large and a very well used Mini, added a Mini Max when they came out (I'm good for now). Just given a Mini to add to the herd. -
No limit on perch here now; used to be 50. Tip ups limited to 15 pp on the lake; 7 on ponds.
-
I agree with Poolman, my first thought was that looks like a Zippy pie! Looks wonderful Julia nd I'm not a pepper person.
Happy New Year to you and yours,
Blair

Julia, lovely photos. Love the one of you with little Tucker!

That's the first and probably the only time I'll see perch pizza. That's an original! I wouldn't mind trying one of those.
