I love escargot in the shells with hot garlicky butter! YUMMMMY!!! My b-i-l knows that so he gave me a can for Christmas...but this wasn't the usual small can I buy with a dozen snails...instead it is a big honking 28 oz can packed with 72 extra large ones! 6 dozen escargots would take me weeks to eat and probably go bad before finishing them. My question is can they be frozen without problems?

I have no idea if they can be frozen, but what a present!!! Let's see, if you eat a dozen a day...

Or you can send some over my way! :woohoo: -
LOL - if I ate a dozen a day the way I fix them then my veins would clog up and I'd being grunting oink oink as the paramedics struggled to get the gurney out to the ambulance!Re-gasketing the USA one yard at a time

Thank you! I knew they are sold frozen, but since I've always only bought them in a can it didn't know if some fancy process or step was needed.Re-gasketing the USA one yard at a time

65 for me, 7 for the wife,,,,sounds about right

Sounds like a job for the FoodSaver to get the air out, but switch to a manual seal so as to not crush them. Thanks!Re-gasketing the USA one yard at a time

I have gotten the 72 size cans before and find that I can make the mixture and place enough for 8-12 servings in a ziploc or foodsaver bage and they freeze very nicely. They will also freeze in their own liquid or water.
