I need to cook two for Sunday, can be cooked a day or two ahead, I have several from 12# up to 22#, can I fit two in at the same time or shall I just plan on one at a time?

Thanks
Dan

Whole turkeys,1 at a time. You could probably do 2 breasts at once if you trimmed em up and cooked the other parts scattered around or just cook the other parts after you cooked the breasts.
  • I just took two breast off a large, and they were large breast.....just the way I like them, lol. I think you could do two small turkeys or three medium breast on one, but you would probably have to rotate things around because some parts will be sticking out over the edges of the plate setter and will get done QUICK that way.

I have done 2 breasts with no problem.3 would work with some juggeling.I tried puttin foil over the grid where the plate setter voids were.MISTAKE! It forced all the hot air to the middle.Center was done, outside extremities were raw, well, uncooked. :ermm:
  • If you are just looking for cooked turkey, you can get some long bolts, stack three grids, and spatchcock the birds. Pull the firering if you need a little more head room. Provided they are similar in size, the one on top will likely be done first.

In order to avoid the hot spots from the sides of the plate setter, I learned from Thirdeye years ago that if you wrap the outer edges of the grid with some HDAF and have it come in about 3 inches on 4 sides so the grid showing is like a square shape the hot spots are no longer an issue.
