I've asked for a Maverick ET-732 for Christmas. Might just change that request to this. Looks cool.

That is pretty nifty. 200 ft range is pretty good.

Still a little pricey when you can get a maverick ET-73 that comes with 2 probes for about $40. However, it looks like they are sold out right now so I guess there are plenty of folks who disagree!

Which came first the chicken or the egg?  I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg.

  • If it would tell me the temperature while I'm at Home Depot it would be cool. Right now I think I'll stick with my other toys.

Noticed you can get a second prob: will the unit be able to tell you the cook temp and the egg temp?????????

  • This looks pretty darn cool - but the probes are only good to 400F. So I guess that means you can't (necessarily) use it to monitor grate temperature. Don't know how rugged the probes would be. 30 day return policy for manufacturing defects only. At 65% higher than the Mav 732, hmmmm.

Seems like a great product improvement idea for a company with experience in temperature monitoring - Maverick - a long range bluetooth model (or wi-fi) with an iphone/ipad/ipod app, and high temp probes.
