no thermometer, but looks identical otherwise -- except not in green ,default,pd.html?cgid=Outdoor_Living-Grills

even has warranty options

still not a real BGE

  • Gotta admit it IS well made! 304 Stainless etc. I wish the BGE came with 304 or any Stainless, as I have had some rust issues over the past 10+ years. You know what they say, impersonation is the biggest flattery
    BGE'er since 1996 Large BGE 1996, Small BGE 1996, Mini BGE 1997
  • Yeah, the stainless thing looks good. I gotta admit, I was going to get one of these before I found a used large. Now I have 4 eggs. I probably would have been happy either way, but I like my eggs so far.

  • Nope, Not interested. Already burned up to many metal grills. They have no staying power. Ceramic rules, lest you break one. :) :) :) but they don't rust.

I do like the stainless hardware! But the color makes it look like a big ole zit!
  • Grill domes are ceramic, have been for a long time now. Their hardware is stainless.

I think it's a nice looking cooker. I wonder if BGE will ever make any changes to the exterior or offer SS. I'm starting to think it wouldn't be too wise to rest on your warranty and forum to push you over the top.

Grill Dome isn't exactly new. They've been around about 20 years.

And I really don't get all the hostility about competition. Not just you, but continual posts on this board every time somebody finds another kamado cooker. Isn't imitation the sincerest form of flattery? And even that said, BGE isn't exactly the original kamado cooker.

Stainless may look nice but it doesn't like to expand & contract like other metals. While it might be pretty, it does nothing for the functionality.
