i am new to the forum, currently own and love my large bge.. are there different categories for the forum? my first question is about temperature, is dome temp usually hotter than grill surface temp?

Yes, generally 25 degrees hotter in the dome. This levels out in long cooks--a little. Scott

Agreed...25* higher in the dome, give or take. Some claim up to 50*, but 25* seems about the norm.
Also, welcome to the forum!! Come back often!

The forum does not really have categories per se. There are a few sub-forums but this is the most used one by far. The search function is useful though for research. Feel free to ask anything though! Welcome!
