Sorry for the OT here but I really need to get to important incoming emails, but some email has my box clogged and I can't get around it. About 1/3 of the way in the download the message pops up saying an Unknown error has occurred. Tells the port and then says the error is 0x800C0133 which means nothing to me. My server is Comcast. Will any of you computer whizzes tell me how to fix this? Thanks in advance!

First question is..has anything changed on your computer/and or network?
Most of the time it is caused by something that has changed.
You could delete the account and then rebuild it just in case the account is corrupted.
Do you have web mail? You could always go the the web client and read your mail there till you can fix it.
Of worse comes to worse download Thunderbird. By far a better client than Express. -
Can you access your email online (webmail), maybe by logging in through comcast's website. if so, delete the message from there and it will not download to outlook.

I'm sorry I'm so stupid, but how do I access my webmail?Re-gasketing the USA one yard at a time

I have Road Runner, for example. I have configured outlook with the mail server names and use it to do my email. However, Road Runner allows me to view my email from the web. If I go to their home page, they have a link to it. So go to comcast.com and there is an email link at the very top. You should be able to log in with your ID and password (You would have needed to put this into Outlook in order for Outlook to retrieve your mail) and you should get a web mail interface that will let you view your inbox. The Naked Whiz

I found this and others when searching on that error code: http://www.ureader.com/message/3652766.aspxThe Naked Whiz

I think you said your carrier was Comcast, right?
Go to their website and you should nbe able to hunt around to find your e-mail. usually this involves logging in where your User name ids the same as your e-mail address.
Until you get a better answer, you could try that.
btw- I have to access my webmail to empty out the excess e-mail that accrues there. -
You can access web mail in comcast. Go to www.comcast.net. Note ".net" not ".com".
Actually, either .com or .net will get you there now. Just look for "email" and it will prompt you to log in or register.Which came first the chicken or the egg? I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg. -
log jam broken free...it was some stupid email my sister-in-law sent me! Everything is fine now! I will make a note of "how to" in the future. Again, thank ALL of you!Re-gasketing the USA one yard at a time

Ron:
Outlook Express has not been supported by Microsoft for some time.
I would recommend changing to the free Thunderbird email program.
