Nice cook Pat! I made it once and I didn't have any bourbon so I used Irish whiskey. It was good anyway.
-
Thanks Dale,, I didn't even notice I misspelled bourbon until I saw your reply  guess thats why I drink beer
-
Wow that looks great Pat.
-
Lookin' good Pat! I have had Egrets hams at Fests, but have yet to make one myself! Great recipe for sure! Nice job.
-
Looks great buddy :woohoo: I usually just use beer, but I don't know why  :woohoo:
-
Thanks Egrets recipe is really easy
-
That looks terrific! I am planning to make a small one [my first] as a backup for the T-Day Bird [Mad Max, of course], and my bride wants me to do the homemade rolls [thanks Kricks] on the small, so we will have a very heavy Egg Thanksgiving! :P :cheer:
-
I was thinking back Michelle and I think I've had his ham at the afterpary of every official eggfest I've been to. I don't think he made it at the 2 mini fests. Best part was I only have to fight the dogs for the ham bone (hear that Faith and Julie?) It's gonna make some great soup.
-
Doug, I know why you use beer, it's easier to spell than bourbon
-
Pat, That looks great!! I'll be doing that soon.Molly

Pat:
I also made this ham today. I added another round of paste 1/2 hour before done. Additionally, I cooked with 2 beers in the drip pan and poured the sauce and drippings over the ham when done.
Works great.__________ Chris -
Molly it's so easy a poolman can do it
-
Chris I might have to give that a try, sounds good. I was going to mist it with apple juice but was too busy (lazy) to go to the store.
-
That looks quite edible. Lucky you on the leftovers.Dave San Jose, CA The Duke of Loney

Pat have one in the fridge for Thur morning. Started to do sprial as could never get the injector to work like they should. It will ride on the small and the turkey on the large.
You guys have a wonderful Thanksgiving.Salado TX & 30A FL: Egg Family: 3 Large and a very well used Mini, added a Mini Max when they came out (I'm good for now). Plus a couple Pit Boss Pellet Smokers. -
Faith and Julie don't get my ham bones, either!! And the family pet is DEFinately not in consideration! Split Pea, 15 Bean, Navy Bean? Where are your thoughts on the soup?
-
I like black bean but I'm sure I'll be over ruled and it will be the 15 bean
-
Thanks Dave, the leftovers can be the best part
-
Same to you Mickey
-
Gonna get any sandwiches out of that or is it gone already?

haha,,, sandwiches and soup in the very near future It's one of the few things that I do like as leftovers
-
Pat, I knew it was you and not an impostor when you wrote, "it was only 7 pounds".
To bad you won't have any leftovers for soup and sandwiches. :( :P -
Well it was the smallest one they had and I'll have you know I'm having sandwiches tomorrow  The soup will have to wait until I cook the other one Thursday,, gotta love a two bone soup
-
That's beautiful, Pat! Dang, I gotta try that sometime!!?
-
funny John,, I've had your ham at every official fest I've been to and if you remember my first time to Ocala you had me in charge of carving duties
-
Pat,
I almost picked up a ham yesterday, but knew I had the big turkey cook coming, so I resisted.
Your post made me plan to do it sometime in December. Looks very tasty, and makes for great leftovers and bone for beans.
Richard -
Yes, I remember that! And, you did a fine job at it, too!!
-
Richard, the bean soup can be the best part, now if I could only bake bread like Egret I'd be in heaven
-
That and you made me clear that biker gang away from that table
