Early this year it was suggested to me to use turkey legs in for ham on pinto beans.
Have used the suggestion about a half dozen times and it needs to be passed on.
I tossed 3 turkey legs with the coffee rub on for about 50 min's this morning high and direct at 400. Pulled meat and put into pot of pintos.
Real good food ( and a little better for you).............
Just can't think who put me on this, but thank you...
Salado TX & 30A  FL: Egg Family: 3 Large and a very well used Mini, added a Mini Max when they came out (I'm good for now). Just given another Mini to add to the herd.

I do the same thing. It's really a heart healthy way to go. You can also make sandwiches that are similar to a pulled pork sandwich with smoked turkey.

Simmering the turkey drums in the beans works great, but here's another tip, if you do a pressure finish on just one or two drumsticks, you will get some outstanding broth to go into the beans.
