Took Auron to vet for his lasT x rays on leg where Merry my wifes Walking horse stepped on him last month. Growth plate has healed perfect!! He's good to start wearing some of the energy out of him FINNALY!!
Wanted to just try some'en different but simple and picked up some yard bird quarters. Doreen wanted hers simpley with bbq sause grilled. Booring. Improvise time. The raws:
Some EVOO in the cast iron direct at about 275. Did these at a lower heat so that the oil was sizzle but just not trying to burn. Coated my bird in EVOO as well then into the cast iron with some nutmeg, sea salt, powder ginger and a pinch of ADP pepreka bill made me last year. A dab will do ya!
Cooked with presimmon wood till quarters were about 3/4 done, remove from skillet and poured off 80% of the fat/oil then returned them to the EGG. Next added about an oz and 1/2 orange coraka liquar, bannana liquar and about 1/2 cup red muskidine wine.
One fresh squeezeed limon.
And allow to finnish cooking as well as reduce the liquid in skillet. If it starts to run dry before the quarters are threw just add more wine.
It was so good I did it again tonight with bacon wrapped pork loin and jellepeno peppers for my partner and his wife. Note the lime reather than limon. It an't rocket science folks!
Indirect at 325 till 145 internal temp.
Jake decided to perch on Sis's glass this time!
Sis couldn't finnish the last couple bits of loin so guess who got'em?
Couple more of the mutt. He's growing fast! 17 weeks and 43 lbs. :pinch:

JL: Looks like a fabulous meal as always! I really like the stuffed jalepeno technique you have been using. And I honestly have to say, that is one verry handsome dog!! Glad he is mended...Now get him working!
-
Great post Deane. It's been a while since I cooked up some chicken. I sent you a email, did you get it? Auron's looking good and it's great news about his growth plate.
-
Thanks LC. The technique on the peppers was born out of lazyness. Really eazy to dish them out like this then just stuff with poision of your choice. These only had munster or colbyjack cheese with a little thime and Tonys on top but you can mix in a little sausage or what ever. Best thing is unless you get over zellous it doesnt run everywhere making a mess!
-
Yea I got it and will write you tomorrow night. I'm on graveyards then and I try to write my "novels" on company time!
-
Sounds good. I am off tomorrow and start a 48 hour straight shift. Not looking forward to it!
-

Wish I had grown them Hoss but they came from a bag!! I planted some but they didn't make. Just a super dry year. I have been feeding hay for the last 2 weeks because of no rain and normally don't start till after Thanksgiving. :(

Actually Beli it was my buddy's who we ride with all the time. I had an Egg T on I got at OK Fest where YOU will be next year!!(hint)

Lets just hope is not that loooong of winter this year! :pinch:

The one on the wall is a 7 lb bass I caught when I was 11 years old. The one in the Aquarium is a Pacu. A form of obniverous parana. He was about an inch and half when I got him about 15 years ago and weighs about 5 lbs now!
-
Pretty mask on Root! Wish I had something that big around hear for Auron to play with. All the local dogs are 25 lbs or smaller and even though he doesnt try to as a rambunctious puppy he could hurt one.
-
I'd forgotten you had him. Cool!!Molly

Everything looks great. The flavours on the chicken sound tasty. Very glad to hear the pup is healed and ready to go

what kind of dog is Auron, when i bought my house the insurance person told me right out that most of the firms wouldnt insure me with the german shepard and that others would charge me more. i told him he was a belgium sheepdog and showed him pics of a belgium malinois, not on the list of bad dogs. :laugh:fukahwee maineyou can lead a fish to water but you can not make him drink it
-
We call malinois "Malagators"!! Auron is of course A German Shepherd but he is out of European working lines. Those Mals are something though. I though about one but for my first Shutzhund I wanted some'en a little more calm. Never have heard of problems around this part of the country with insurance although I have hear of it in big cities and heavly populated areas that are more urban.

Oh the poor pitiful look on that baby's face in the tub....shame on you dad A little dirt never hurt anyone :laugh:Judy
