I cooked some'en: Pizza before quick trip

Me and the wife decided to head out of town for the night Sat. to Hot Springs Ark. Neat little tourest town with a real nice garden right outside town and bathhouses down town. After much pleading the wife picked me up a can of anchovies!!!! Full can on my side. None on hers! The raws:

Yep I worked hard on this one!

I used a S.S screen this time just to try between the parchment and the stone. One of the few problems with the Medium Egg is that in order to have a pizza big enough to be worth eat'en the outside crust will burn before the main crust is done unless you use parchment paper as an extended platesetter so to speak. The S.S screen did give a nice crust.

New baby ribeye just for Belie!

And a few shots from the trip. Sorry I have been falling down on my Egg responsibilities. As some of you know I have been trying to get a working line German Shepherd for over a year and one thing after another has happened. We are looking hard at a 9 week old male in the Czech Republic right now. Breeder we have been working with found him threw contacts she has with people over there and hear. Will have to decide today or tomorrow so lots of though all ready in this as well as to come. Will let ya'll know.

Kim won't eat anchovies either, they are one of my favorite things. -RP

I love me some anchovies, and luckily they can be disguised in many recipes, so no one ever knows!! Hard to do that on a pizza, though.
I used to live in Hot Springs. I would go get water every week from the spings.Happily egging on my original large BGE since 1996... now the owner of 5 eggs. Call me crazy, everyone else does!

I eat anchovies, but that's a lot of anchovies on just 1/2 of a pizza! Looks like a real nice pizza!

Keep us posted about the pooch. Curious as to what your plans are with the working German Shepard.
Thanks for all the pics. Nice diversion.
P.S. Don't let Beli near that little veal! :( -
Mi amiga, don't forget I've got an XL now..... :woohoo:

Great cook, JL.
Sorry we weren't able to meet Saturday. If you saw my post earlier this week, you would've seen that I was pretty tied up grocery shopping, marinading and cooking Saturday!
It was a great weekend to be in HS, great pics.
We never made it north of the 270 bypass. :(
We need to go back and act like real tourists, enjoying some of the sights. -
Nice pie and post. Did you try McClards BBQ while you were there. I used to eat it every time I went to Hot
Springs to visit the grandparents in the 50's and 60's. It's still there if ya did not get the chance to try it. Might be worth a visit. On south Albert Pike if memory serves.

I tired to take a photo of my pizza cooking through the top hole and almost melted my camera lens. Next time I'll stand on a chair if I try that again.
